AIPO (Interregional Association of Olive Producers of Verona) and L'Informatore Agrario join forces to champion olive oil production in the Mediterranean. From January to May 2018, selections will be held for two important competitions: the 15th AIPO d’Argento International Extra-Virgin Olive Oil Contest and the 3rd Edition of EVOO TOP WINNERS.
The initiative was created to enhance, through the rigorous, impartial, evaluation analysis of a highly professional panel and proven international experience, olive oil production in the Mediterranean area in order to enhance quality extra virgin olive oil, Italian and international, promoting their consumption. The Competition takes place under the High Patronage of the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies of the Italian Republic, adopting the method of analysis of the COI (International Olive Council).
The affirmation of the highest and qualifying levels of entrepreneurial culture of the whole international olive oil system are the objectives of the initiative, along with the management of the olive grove, the harvesting, the pressing of the olives, the quality levels of the oils produced as well as their correct management and conservation are the objectives of the initiative.
