36 Flavours at the Gelato World Tour Finals

Celery and apple, extra-virgin olive oil, saffron and speck. Eight Italians among the finalists at the Rimini competition.

36 flavours have qualified for the Gelato World Tour, which is organised by Carpigiani and will be held at Parco Fellini in Rimini, from 8th to 10th September. The competition, now at its second final, has welcomed about 1,800 participants from Italy, Germany North and South America, Singapore, Japan and Shenzhen (China). The eight Italian finalists were selected by Carpigiani, a company based in Anzola dell’Emilia, last spring. They come from Piacenza, Spoleto, Corato, Agrigento, Syracuse, Amatrice, Bolzano and Verbania, with classics like pistachio ice-cream with Mandorlivo - almond and olive oil - but also more unusual creation that incorporate Italy’s typical products, from peanuts to wild mint, from Tyrolean apples to speck.
